What is a compliance evidence platform?
A compliance evidence platform is software that proves, per person and per role, that a legal knowledge or training duty has been met. Why an LMS, a GRC tool and a certificate each miss something
An LMS proves that a course was completed. A GRC tool proves that a system is governed. A certificate proves that one person passed one test on one day. None of them answers the question an auditor, a client or a works council actually asks: which people in which roles can show today that they meet the duty their work falls under? Background
Where the term comes from
The duties are not new. Banks trained staff on money laundering signals long before AI, boards were already accountable for cyber resilience, and financial institutions already had to prove operational resilience. What changed is that AI entered every one of those jobs at once, and Article 4 of the EU AI Act added an explicit literacy duty on top. Four laws now put a knowledge or training duty on the same people, and each auditor asks for the same thing in a different format.
The answer used to be scattered: a course in the LMS, a certificate in a mailbox, an attendance list in a spreadsheet, a register in a GRC tool. None of those was built to prove a duty per person. A compliance evidence platform closes that gap with one chain: role, duty, training, test, dossier. The chain is the product, the individual course is only one link in it.

What is the difference between a compliance evidence platform and an LMS?
An LMS delivers and tracks courses. A compliance evidence platform starts from the legal duty: which role must know what, under which law, and how do we prove it. LearnWize can sit next to your LMS: the training runs where your people already are, the evidence is recorded per duty in LearnWize.
What is the difference with a GRC or AI governance tool?
GRC and AI governance tools prove that systems are governed: registers, classifications, controls, vendor documentation. A compliance evidence platform proves that people are ready: trained, tested and recorded per role. Large organisations run both, mid-sized organisations often need the people side first.
Which laws create a knowledge or training duty?
Article 4 of the EU AI Act asks for measures that support AI literacy of people working with AI on your behalf. Article 24 of the Dutch Cybersecurity Act (NIS2) asks boards to keep their knowledge demonstrably current. Article 35 of the Wwft asks for periodic, risk-based training of staff. Article 13(6) and Article 5(4) of DORA ask for resilience training including the management body. LearnWize maps each of them to roles.

Does a compliance evidence platform replace legal advice?
